After spending 14 years running an art and design led gift shop in Manchester, I decided in 2001, to focus solely on my art when I studied with the Open College of Art. Since then I have built up my portfolio and created works for family, friends, private and commercial clients.

My inspiration predominately comes from nature, especially sunrises and sunsets viewed across the Cheshire Plain. I’m particularly influenced by the renaissance masters, working as a trompe l’oeil muralist this has been invaluable. Abstract expressionism and surrealism have also influenced my work giving my canvases a modern contemporary urban feel.

The largest mural commissioned to date is a 130ft abstract swirling design painted on the walls of the corridor to Macclesfield General Hospital Children’s Unit, taking 10 days to complete. Over period of 18 months I went on to paint, specialist rooms, treatment rooms, playrooms, more corridors and consulting rooms. All done with plenty of offers of help!
